COMPOSITING/ROTO/PAINT DEMO REEL 2012 - SHOT BREAKDOWN

GREEN SCREEN & MATTE PAINTING INTEGRATION:

Green Screen Footage: Adjusted "green" of green screen in footage for easier keying. Pulled and refined matte. Removed green fringe and spill on ladies. Rotoscoped and repeated for hair to manipulate and patch separately. Clone-painted out blown-out highlight on right figure's right arm. Created adjustment "patches" to knock down overbright highlights on left figure's right arm and further adjust lighting on hair and figures. Created "patches" to minimize issue with blur and fine hairs in blowing hair. Scaled and positioned ladies.

Foreground Environment: Stabilized footage. Rotoscoped footage and added as foreground environment. Adjusted color and saturation. Rotoscope and adjustments to create light receiving faces on foreground rocks. Scaled and positioned foreground.

Final Composite: Color correction, brightness, contrast, and saturation and slight blur to integrate all elements and suggest depth of field. Added background and foreground mist element and keyframed mist and cloud movement. Final overall pass to adjust time of day and stylize.

Software used: After Effects, Photoshop.
